Nom nom nom…

Local starfish chowing down.

We are approaching that time in New York City where it is warm enough to take to our own local waters in search of life for our tanks.  Dom scraped this starfish off of a dock a couple of years ago.  The local starfish are extremely temperature sensitive and must be kept in cold water tanks.  They are also highly carnivorous.  This is a composite of nine photos I took of Dom’s starfish devouring a piece of scallop.  His fish eat better than I do!

  1. Awesome! I’m always taken back by this photo group.

  2. Great photos Lisa. I always admire people keeping local fauna and flora and it seems like Dom has some serious experience!
