WWII U-boats Mapped


Many East coast divers know the story of a few German subs that sit off the coast of New York and the Carolinas.  For this history buffs, wreck divers, or general reef hobbyists, National Geographic has released photographic panoramas of one of the boats that sits off the coast of North Carolina.  In addition to the photos being really amazing to look at, the article mentions that the wreck is home to barracudas, sharks, and small bait fish.  Check out the photos HERE.

    Very cool, though I doubt the story behind the U-boat commander will ever make an inspirational poster. I just don’t see “Trying your hardest is sometimes not enough” making the cut.
