UK manufacturer TMC has just announced a new bio pellet reactor, with some innovative features.The reactor features a unique patented design that uses a ‘flow inductor’ which according to TMC: ’maximises the media-to-water contact time within the reactor and ensures efficient fluidisation of media even when using lower flow rate pumps’they add:‘the unique design of the flow inverter ensures that the media is kept in supsension and the specially designed media diffuser bowl ensures optimum fluidisation of media and upward dispersal of water’The reactor is designed to either stand in the sump or operate as a hang on unit and is supplied with 500ml of Tropic Marin NP Bacto Pellets.I should add that I have seen a pre-production model of the reactor and was genuinely impressed by its build quality, though I have yet to try one in my own system.  TMC are shipping one out shortly for review.The unit will retail in the UK at around £99, US and European pricing is yet to be confirmed.
