you r right, upon closer look carpet has a tear near its mouth and the clown was actually pulling on the flesh. will the carpet make it?? I already put a hatchery box covering the carpet....

Most likely just settling in to a new environment. That particular carpet has been in captivity for quite some time now. If you notice the clown getting over excited and harassing the carpet too much while it acclimates, separating them for awhile as Greg recommended will definitely help the carpet settle in better. Let me know if any issues arise and we will fully take care of it for you.
