Vodka Dosing Method

Can any one explain the vodka dosing method for me please? i have forgotten how the method goes again :banghead: For example how many times a week and how much a week. Also what utility can i use to measure the vodka dose too.

btw if your going to be buying pods you may want to reconsider buying or dosing. From other peoples experience it seems many people notice a decline in pod population.

Okay i have a 55G with a 20G long sump. Which I'm using about 15G from the sump. So I'm guessing I'm using 70G in total for my system?

Okay i have a 55G with a 20G long sump. Which I'm using about 15G from the sump. So I'm guessing I'm using 70G in total for my system?

so ur 55 gallon tank has rock in it right? you need to take out for that to come up with you net water volume(NWV) you can take abt 30% off the tank so 30% of 55g is 16.5 so 55-16.5=38.5 gallons

your sump is not full to the top right? so figure half of the 20gallons is 10g

so total you would have 48.5 gallons its safer to be under rated wit water than over..

so at 0.1 ml per 25g your roughly at 0.2ml for your starting dose for the first 3 days.. and double to 0.4ml for the 4-7th day with 80 proof vodka

you might be better off , doing water changes, trying to dose .05ml is really tricky, one mistake and you can crash your tank

my question would be, in the the case of dosing some guys run gfo some dont.. what abt the use of bio pellets? do you keep running them or stop? also some guys run ozone to add o2 to the system.. some dont.. what abt the use of h202 bc that breaks down into 02 also.. would there be any adverse effects from using hydrogen peroxide?
