A few days ago I found my large brittle star with a huge hole in the top of its body. Next morning there was a hole all the way thru the bottom of it. Next thing I knew all the legs fell off and the body(or what was left of it) disappeared. Now, a week later there are still two of the legs "crawling" around the tank looking for food. When they find it they still wrap around the food but don't have a mouth to put it in. What in the world happened here and do those legs have a snowball's chance of re generating to a complete star? It really gives me the woolies just to watch them motoring around in there!!
