I switched my halides to 14k. they are significantly more blue than the 10k's. they also take longer to fire up....

One of them never burned completely in. will this change after a couple of firings???? or should i get a replacement bulb.....

I imagine they have to break in like all new bulbs, right?

That's a good question, I have seen allot of posts about higher K MH not firing or not burning as bright as the should when used with PFO ballasts. You may want to do a search on this board.

I takes MH bulbs up to 100 hours to burn in to the correct color spectrum and to begin firing quickly. I wait it out a couple of weeks if I were you.

well. i claled hamilton. they told me it was more than ,ikely a bad bulb... my rep got me a new one. i will fire it up in the morning and see how it goes.....
