Hi everyone!

My brother is tearing his tank down, and wants to give me a 24" snowflake moray. I have researched then in the past, when I was thinking of setting up a FOWLR tank, so I know about sealing up the top of the tank, etc. The tank it is in now has also housed a CBS for over a year, with no problems, so I am somewhat comfortable with putting it in my tank, which also has one. I am concerned, though, about a 2" oscellaris and a 3" scooter blenny. What do you think? Any other advice?

Thanks!

I've had a snowflake about that size for almost two years now and he has never bothered any fish. He is in a FOWLR, no shrimp, so I cant commetn on the coral Banded Shrimp.

Thanks for the quick response, Louey! My brother says he never had any problem with the moray bothering fish, but never had fish as small as I have in the tank with it.

I was wondering what CBS stood for!... I wouldn't worry about fish, but I would worry about the shrimp. Snowflakes (and zebras) have those pebble shaped teeth specifically for crushing invertebrate shells.

The CBS would likely be in danger but the fish are fine. The main diet of Echidna genus eels is crustaceans - mainly crabs but I'm betting he'd fine the shrimp tasty.

Thanks for your advice! As I said, my brother has kept a CBS in the same tank with the eel for over a year, and I always wondered how he got away with it. I suspected it was just a fluke, but wasn't 100% sure. Thanks for pointing this out. Will have to come up with a plan for the shrimp.
