I am adding a 75Gallon ReefReady Tank to my 180 to be a sump. Right now I have two 15-20 Gallon tanks as a sump and refuge. my question is how much flow can the overflow take. The tank has two holes one 1" and one 3/4" both will be used to return water to the 180. right now I have a chiller running in the garage with a mag24, Instead of having the return from the chiller go to the 20 gallon sump I am going to have it feed the 75 and then the overflow on the 75 will be connected to the 20 gallon sump. so I am wondering if the two holes can handle the amount of water the mag24 will be pushing, it will be about 10-15 feet to the 75 from the 20gallon sump.

what does the overflow in the sump matter? in my opnion thats ganna cause problems....why not just use a regular tank and pump water straight out? unless im missing something, the internal overflow in the sump seems unnecisary

I am pumping the water to the sump and then letting gravity bring it back to the main tank. This is so I do not have to purchase another pump or redo how the main tank is setup since it has been running for 3 years
