There is actually a nice article about Japanese anthias like this one on Scott Michael's "Coral Realm" website: http://www.coralrealm.com/homepage.html

As long as we are playing... can anyone guess the name of the wrasse on the left in the image that my Paracheilinus octotaenia is so nicely displaying for (BTW it was beaten up in the LFS tank, not mine).

I'm a rare fish nut like sedgro. I have a list of Anthias that I'd love to have but would never muster the guts to pay for :)

I would love the privilage of just seeing some of those anthias... the only ones that seem to show up around here anymore are Bartlett's, Squares, Squamapinnus and Purple Queens (still waiting to see one actually eat - I am beginning to think they must be photosynthetic;).

Bingo! I love that little thing. They come from coldwater, but I betcha we could keep one at UCD in our temperate tanks.

Hehe, my new desktop. Thanks! Ever heard of one being sold in the US?
