These things aren't the highest quality, but gotta say they do a great job of making water invisibly clear, even if you run a sock and/or uv. Prolly not a good idea to run 24/7, but for when doin' water changes, or mixing sand up, or rearranging tank they're great. Also good to have around for emergencies like algea blooms or sump/pump problems.

NOT made to run 24/7! may clog and burn out motor

you cant run the unit 24/7 it would actually make the water too clean and thats not too good either but yes when rearanging rock doing water changes or just once weekly it makes the clarity of your water unreal. petriaio ill shoot you a text tonight with a pic i got your pm

I have, and have known others who ran it 24/7. Especially back before sumps where a thing. You gotta change the powder before it gets completely clogged and oil the motor. May take a few hours or days for the clog, depending on water.
Diatom cleans down to 100 microns, don't people run socks that clean down to 200 microns 24/7 ? guess it depends on what you have in your tank.
