I just added a BM NAC3.5 cone skimmer to my Elos Mini last weekend, replacing the Elos NS100 skimmer that had been on the tank for it's first month of operation. The NAC3.5 fits perfectly in the Mini's sump without having to modify it by removing any of the partitions built into it.

Here's a photo of the foam head after just a half day of operation, with the skimmer still breaking in. Considering the tank is still mostly empty and has a very low bioload it looks very promising.

Anyone own a external skimmer by them? I'm thinking about getting one for my bio cube. Right now I have a coralife 75 on the cube, and ever since I got my nac7 I never want to change brands.

I just got my NAC7 and am setting it up now. Two minor complaints so far: the instructions are terrible (unless you are fluent in Broken English) but as this isn't my first skimmer I really didn't need it and there is no plug for the drain on the collection cup.

BM T01 Dosing Pump

I have been using this for a month...I don't have to worry about forgetting to dose or the accurate amount as well. I'm in no rush to setup a calcium reactor, sitting in the closet, at the moment.

:lol2: I just bought the BM Nac3, and also noticed the lack of a plug.. you have let the tubing droop down a bit.. doesn't look great.

Is anyone having trouble with the impeller on the BM skimmers? I've heard a few people have their impellers break relatively quickly.

The shaft on my NAC6 snapped at between 8-9 months. New shaft and pump running about 4 months. If you have a choice go with a skimmer that you can have decent support if a problem may arise it is worth it in the end. First time you have an issue with the skimmer see how easy it is to get parts for it. Best to order back up shafts and pump from either NuOcean or FishStreet so when it does happen you are covered ;)

That's a good idea, Mike. I'm going to have to get a few extra shafts. Possibly a pump as well.

Yeah mine came with a spare too. Mine is a few months old, still doing great.

Hey batt, you ever do your upgrade yet and get that skimmer you posted? Just curious...

And how about that nac 9? When was that available?

And last, anyone ever seen or found any specs on the bubble magus LEDs they sell?
